Career Bound NV Information Session: Parents
Time & Location
About The Event
Career Bound NV, a division of JOIN Inc., is now accepting applications from qualified students in the class of 2020 and 2021 at Douglas High School and Aspire High School for the pilot launch of the work-based learning program. Career Bound NV serves as the intermediary between industry and education, and engages students in career exploration, skill development, internships and paid work experiences.
A limited number of paid work experiences are available for this pilot program. Successful applicants will work in a local business for a minimum of nine months and up to two years. While in the program, students will work with a career mentor to develop skills and knowledge applicable to a future career in their chosen industry pathway while earning wages and credits. Work experience will take place during business hours and be coordinated with each student’s individual class schedule.
Parents looking to learn more information about the program are encouraged to attend an information session. The session is at Douglas High School from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. on May 29.
All Douglas High School students wishing to apply to the first cohort of Career Bound NV may secure an application from Mr. Jim Meyers in the Career and Technical Education office at Douglas High. All Aspire Academy students may secure an application from Brooke Nair at Aspire High. Applications are due by May 31, 2019.
